Description

This is the final colored version of a previous illustration made with china ink.
I took some days to color it, I decided to work on it as I was coming close to a year without having touched it.
It's a scene which mends the characters from my early stories in their respecitve incarnations as would've been some 11 years ago, waaay back in 2005.
It's also undeniable the fact that it was based on Mega Bloks Dragons' toyline, more specifically their Norvagen faction introduced in 2003's Krystal Wars series. The three knights have their helmets based off on the ones included in the "Norvagen War Chest", as well the tools are adaptation of the ones included and the greenish sea tone of the scene being based from the backgrounds of the Norvagen playsets. The background includes a ship and a fortress loosely based on Man-O-War and Marauder's Cliff.
Other items in the scene are more referable to my own creations, such as both books (on the lower corners of the scene) and its inscriptions.
These are the three Marauders, from left to right:

Aplô Aquanautilus Condrict (original character) protagonist from my series:
The Cosmic Messenger, that is, an ambassador, diplomat and freelance paramilitary in service of a "project of pacification" on the behalf of the galaxies' intercultural relations, mediated between the balance of power between the elemental gods, beings whose battle over the multitude of life-forms shaped the cosmos. His approach is rather of an explorer and researcher than of a "buccanneer", championing for the maintenance of autoctonous, indigenous and aboriginal, traditional life-forms, much to industrialists' dismay. His protector (or contractor) is the elemental of Water, and his role as the cosmic messenger has been always targeted by the Spirit of Fire and its followers, whose "pacification" program is that of slavery for the tribes he protect, inserting them in a consumerist strategy in service of a growing powerful industry. He's helped by the messengers contracted by the stone spirit as well, but their approach is arguably ambiguous: kind of a religious assistentialist project, that despite helping to arm such tribes in order to resist the advancement of the followers of the fire-spirit, kind of propose alliances that are alien to the same tribes. Their true concerns are yet to unfold in this plot.
Beside the Norvagen (which in this context was a common faction serving the elementals of Ice, Water, Wind and Earth) attire, he's known to be the vigilante sometimes dubbed Flying Fox when acting in Islands such as New Zealand, the Apolók Archipelago and the Island of Crete, other than places where the Tinteno-Criticazoikan culture flourished, given he sports their dual insignia. He has a prosthetic left arm (hidden on the glove in the picture), since his original was rendered "useless" in a conflict with a war-mongering alien standing in league with the projects of the spirits of Darkness and Fire (known as the "Ionic League"). As the Cosmic Messenger serving under the Water Spirit Aporak, he's known as the current Aplôrak of the planet Earth.
In his casual life, he's an editor and journalist working with archaeology and discovery.

Ty the Tasmanian Tiger (adaptation from Krome Studios character)
An humanoid Thylacine and not by mistake my own version regarding the original creation of Krome Studios' character of the same name. As a 11 year old child and affictionate of Thylacines I adapted this character to play a major role in the story as soon I found out the game series. As a native from New Zealand, he stood against the multi-national "Lap & Co." enterprise, which is managed by allies of the Fire Spirit. Acting for the endangered species which were hunt by those contracted by Lap & Co.; he came to be aided by Aplô, as in his "Flying Fox" attire. Together they formed a band of endangered species' protectors (most would fall in the category of "anthro character", just like the Ty Tasmanian Tiger setting, except for original human characters such as Aplô that even so had "animal costumes"), and came to fight against Lap & Co some three times. After that, he'd join the Cosmic Messengers, following the side of the Earth-Stone Elemental Huo, serving as a "sidekick" to the Flying Fox (Tasmanian Tiger and Flying Fox sounds like an awesome duo, huh?), accompanying him even when he was sent to another dimension. In such occasions he came to be known by the next character, as well.
He uses the common Norvagen attire while not sporting his traditional "costume" (some short pants and a belt). His helmet is adapted so it fits on his snout, and on this illustration his original boomerangs lay aside it. For those who didn't notice, he's taking a time to pee while his comrades discuss their next mission (or as it seems, Byduchi break off a joke)

Byduchi Huitz Xib (original character by :iconguiler-717:) protagonist from his "Guate" series.
A fellow colleague of Aplô, who work as an archaeologist, explorer and editor of archaeology related news and keep up pace with every new discovery. He's an specialist at the "Pre-Columbian Institute" and used another sort of power: that related to the spirits which inhabited the "Guatebo", series of relics from the Guate people, an ancient people from the continent of Oceania that were the ancestors of most peoples from the planet. His main mission was to find the Guatebos (shaman relics) & Vuhs (sacred books, such as the orange cover "Vellag Vuh" by his feet), what did well both for the fate of the universe (because their power couldn't fall in wrong hands) and his work (as an archaeologist). His main enemy was the lord of the Moche, Topa Inca Yupanqui (who despite having the name of a Inca ruler, was the manifestation of the aforementioned ancient spirit of darkness from the time of the pre-Inca Moche people), and his henchmen. But on the meantime, he liked to cause turmoil on the western peoples who thought his culture (of the fictional 'cebolitics', inspired by the Aztecs) was gone. He's the messenger of the Air-Wind Spirit Huitzopoca, patron of both the Cebolitics and their inhuman reptilian allies the Byduraks, but they work differently and kind of separated from the traditional "cosmic messengers", but being classified as "indigenous" or "natives" themselves by modern democracies, they are often allied to Aporak and Huo's forces.
Other than his Norvagen (which at this occasion means to be the common institute-loyalty of the three characters) attire, he's also known as the "Guate" (even whilst serving the aforementioned "endangered species protectors" unit to which the other characters are no strangers to), his suit, as well the Guate name, were inspired by the Cuauhtli Warriors of the Mexica people. He lost his left arm and has a new prosthetic one, here hidden in his glove. He's a childhood friend of Aplô and this 2005' story arguably drives more or less from other traditional creations of mine and of fellow deviant :iconguiler-717:, such as the 2004's incarnation (reimagined recently).

I just wish I could send it back in time. It was conceived in the midst of my lifetime until now (!!!), and time's such a tyrant...
